Emotional Ties.

Emotional ties are so complicated. You can spend merely minutes, hours, days to create them. Do whatever in your power to maintain them and in a matter of seconds they can be ruined and take months, years even to sever. I realize lately that I hate them. Yes, hate. I hate the feeling and hurt that comes when you have to sever those ties. Whether it be friendships or relationships, there is always some pain that comes when you have to let go of something near and dear to you for whatever reason. I also realized.. that you can’t go through life without emotional ties. You need people. No matter how true it is that you were “born alone and you’ll die alone”. We weren’t meant to live alone. So truth of the matter, you need emotional ties. Some are meant to hurt you and teach you and are meant for you to let go. Others are there forever. Or so you would hope. But they’re necessary. So as much as I may hate them, I need them. Emotional ties are so complicated.
