Relaxed vs. Natural

I look high in this photo..but I’m not. Ha.
I posted a picture on FB last night with my hair like this with the caption “to perm or not to perm.” and got so a lot more responses than I expected or really looked for. There seems to be some kind of fad going on right now with natural hair and quite frankly I have nothing against it. But I also am not one to go and jump on in either. Don’t get me wrong I love the natural curly locks that come when you decide to kick the relaxer to the curb but me personally, I prefer my hair pin straight. When my hair goes 2 months or so without a perm my natural growth comes in as kinky curls that I just don’t care to comb out every single day or maintain the “nap” that frizzes around the edges of my forehead. So I may go for some time without a relaxer but eventually this lady has got to get her creme crack fix. This is what my natural poof looks like and it took me almost half an hour to get it into a neat looking bun. I’m not a diva to be in the mirror for 30mins doing her hair. So I do what I gotta do to shorten that time. I honestly feel like a lot of women who do transition to natural hair do it because its such a big trend now and its become a huge fad. Not because they’re so much interested in “being natural”. Its just that EVERYBODY’s doing it. Kudos to all the natural ladies but I don’t really have the time or patience to deal with my own natural hair nor do I care to get wrapped up in a trend that you may or may not regret later lol.
