You know what grinds my gears?

When people say “you think college is hard? Wait until you get into the real world.” Excuse me, but I didn’t realize that college was make believe or some fairy tale land of all around fun and happiness…………….
I’m pretty sure its NOT. College may not be the hardest part of life but it sure as heck shouldn’t be watered down just because its not “life after college”. COLLEGE IS REAL LIFE. Its one part of real life that prepares us for another. So it annoys me when people who have graduated or who work in corporate or wherever else say that college isn’t the real world. It is the real world. Its one part of the real world molding us for another part of it. College ain’t EASY! Yes, life after it may be harder and more complicated and it may very well SUCK!!! But quit saying “wait until you get into the real world”. No, I’m sorry but I’m in the real world already.
