"The future is better protected than the past.."

I heard this quote a few days ago and it took me a minute to figure out exactly what the author meant by it. After a few minutes of pondering this interesting phrase I found it rather intriguing.

What do you take from it?
I’ll tell you what it said to me:

No matter what, whether you like what happened or not in the past, there’s no changing it. It has no kind of protection. You have to accept the way it has played out to be. There’s really nothing you can do about it and in a sense it has no protection because whats done is done. It really doesn’t need protection when you think about it because like I said, its done. Its already happened.
But the future, on the other hand, is something you have more control over. You have sufficient opportunity to control how it can play out and that itself is a sense of protection. Unlike the past, you can change the future.
But isn’t it funny how eventually the future becomes unprotected because the future at some point becomes the past?

You reading this post was, at one point the future. And now.. it’s the past.
